About WeYouth
What is WeYouth? +
WeYouth is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to change the story for a generation facing a disconnection crisis. We partner with sports coaches, schools, and families to deliver evidence-based Connection Coaching — helping young people ages 12–24 build real relationships, develop resilience, and truly thrive. EIN: 87-4828512.
What is WeYouth's mission? +
WeYouth's mission is to change the story for a generation facing a disconnection crisis — meeting young people where they are by partnering with coaches, schools, clubs, and families to deliver evidence-based Connection Coaching that helps young people ages 12–24 build real connections, reverse the disconnection crisis, and truly thrive.
Who founded WeYouth? +
WeYouth was co-founded by Dr. Kreg Edgmon (PhD, LMFT) and Maryn Edgmon (MS, OT). Together they invested over 16,000 volunteer hours and $900,000 in startup capital — collaborating with clinicians, educators, and scientists to develop the Connection Coaching model. WeYouth earned its 501(c)(3) status on February 4, 2022.
Is WeYouth a nonprofit? Are donations tax-deductible? +
Yes. WeYouth (legally operating as Weyo) is a 501(c)(3) public charity. EIN: 87-4828512. All donations are fully tax-deductible. To donate, visit weyouth.org/donations.
What is the disconnection crisis? +
The disconnection crisis is the epidemic of loneliness, isolation, and lack of meaningful relationships among young people today — identified by research as a root cause of the youth mental health crisis. A landmark Harvard study found that close, meaningful relationships are the single most powerful predictor of joy, far outweighing wealth, status, or achievement. WeYouth addresses this by teaching connection as a learnable skill.
What age group does WeYouth serve? +
WeYouth serves young people ages 12–24, primarily through youth athletic teams and sports programs. Our MPCC program is designed for athletes, coaches, and parents within that age range. Coaching is available in Utah and virtually nationwide.
