Building Human Connection in a Disconnected Age
THE CHALLENGE
Human connection is the single greatest predictor of youth well-being and long-term success—affecting every area of life.
Academic and intellectual growth: supportive relationships with teachers and peers build confidence, motivation, and purpose.
Extracurricular engagement: connection improves youth development in sports, arts, and service while increasing enjoyment and preventing burnout.
Family and friendships: meaningful ties nurture life satisfaction, belonging, empathy, and emotional stability.
Mental health: connection is a primary determinant of well-being and resilience.
Spiritual growth, community, and civic life: connection fosters compassion, cooperation, and contribution.
Yet disconnection is increasing rapidly. Smartphones, social media, and now AI “companions” are reshaping youth relationships—leading to more isolation, anxiety, and loneliness than ever before, and dramatically reducing family formation and civic well-being.
oUR rESPONSE
Over the past seven years, WeYouth has developed and tested research-based, scalable solutions and consulted with national and industry experts to reverse this trend. Our signature model, Connection Coaching, is a two-coach design that is the most effective intervention available to build connection in individual youth, fills a gap, and builds skills to:
Communicate and connect more meaningfully
Manage stress and build confidence
Strengthen ties across family, peers, and mentors
Find purpose and belonging in real-world communities

WeYouth is now building self-sustaining, community-based centers that anchor a continuum of coaching and individual services, group education, and applied science.
The first center in North Salt Lake is underway, with more planned in 2026.
Centers provide direct youth services and training for coaches in the community.
Centers also provide community-based connection-support for youth organizations and schools, including youth in sports and the arts, youth in faith, and for Utah’s school-based teen centers to help youth build connections in their path out of poverty.
OUR VISION
At WeYouth, we believe every young person today has the potential to become better at genuine human connection than if they had been born at any other time in history. We aim to make Utah a national model for elevating human connection in an AI-driven age — strengthening youth, families, and communities across every background and belief.
